The Thrill of the Hunt

I remember the first time I thanked the vintage gods for blessing me with a killer vintage find. I walked into a thrift store not knowing what to expect, but I was feeling very confident. I headed for the ties and found a beautiful Lanvin tie, and for some silly reason, begged to find a Lanvin dress.

Lo and behold, I found a Lanvin dress. It had the most beautiful paisley jewel toned pattern. It has since been sold to a vintage dealer in Australia. Boy was I thrilled. Of course there have been many a vintage find since then, but there is nothing like finding a gem in an unlikely place.

Such is the case of my new goddess, Stacey Winnick. Stacey is a top notch vintage reseller, selling to fashion designers and costume designers. She describes a time when she went on an appointment and found, waiting for her in an attic, a 1960s Hermes bag, in it's original box. I get chills just typing it.

What have been some of your note worthy vintage finds? Do tell....
