Christina Ricci's Vintage Inspired Samsonite Line
My favorite actress, Christina Ricci, collaborated with Cameron Silver, my favorite vintage boy, on the new design for Samsonite, as reported by WWD. The Fashionaire collection is a recreation of the 1960s Samsonite line.

Interestingly, Samsonite has another vintage inspired Black Label collection, promoted by the stunning Isabella Rosellini.
I love the black and white Merimekko inspired print. I think it brings some youth to the very traditional, makes me think of Mom, Samsonite label. Fashionista reported that a company employee stated the collection is not quite right for Americans.
It's about time Samsonite added some punch to their luggage and travel accessories because they haven't been awe inspiring since the 1960s. Let's get out of the bland neutrals, casual sports wear, and strictly utilitarian in design people!
What do you think of the new line? Yay or Nay?

I don't like the pictured case at all - but where can you see others from the collection? I don't like super-bold travel bags anyway - I think Chanel's quilted trolley, and McQueen's earlier effort with Samsonite were much more stylish. I also adore the Isabella Rosellini collection. I-S-F

i think it is fabulous! i own a vintage home furnishings and clothing store. i have been collecting this pattern for years. it was originally called "wild gardenia" i have the whole set (which i will be keeping) and a couple of duplicate pieces are available. i carry the cosmetic case as clutch purse and have had more compliments on it than any other vintage piece that i own. in fact, i would have had it reproduced if it were not copyrighted by samsonite the interest has been so high.
