Vintage Find - Modernist Necklaces

missoni modernist necklace

I came across this stunning Missoni metal, modernist necklace on Net-a-Porter.com. Missoni has a knack for creating statement necklaces. I think I remember last season they had a collection of chunky resin necklaces, no?

Of course, I know why I am so attracted to this bold piece. It resembles classic Scandinavian modernist jewelry. In the vintage jewelry world, silver and other precious metal jewelry, especially the Finnish and Scandinavian kind, rank right up there in desirability and price with Bakelite. Modernist motifs range from free form amoebic to natural to atomic designs.

Deja-Voodoo.com always has a wonderful collection of desirable and collectible jewelry. Here are some of my faves that could have easily influenced Missoni, at a much more affordable price.

That's it! I'm sold! I loooove that last one. I go one of two ways with necklaces...either really dainty or really chunky. Those are all so pretty!

Great finds! I'm in love with the Missoni-mixed metals look good.

Neat! It's amazing to see the range of creativity in these pieces considering they draw on simple lines and geometric shapes in their designs.
