Vintage Find - 1980s Illusion Lace Dress

It's prom season. This time, every year, I get a little nostalgic for the times when things were simple. Career, mortgages, and economic melt downs were a foreign language. The the pressing issues on my mind were how to get my hair to fight gravity with a can of Aqua Net. But if I could go back, knowing what I know now, I would go to prom in something graceful and retro such as this 1980s illusion lace gown.

The sweet cross over neckline and pink cummerbund waist band keep this dress from looking like your mother's evening gown. A perfect party dress in which to kiss good bye the relatively innocent days of high school and say hello to young womanhood.

What a fabulous dress! Despite being so distinctive I'd imagine it's also incredibly versatile, would look great with red lippy in a very 'new romantic' take or with disheveled hair and frayed tights in an homage to Cyndi Lauper!

i bet that dress looks amazing on - anything with the nude/lace overlay looks better shown against the skin. but i can imagine! lovely, lovely!
