Is My Vintage Purse Real?
A few years ago, I wrote a blog post about my adventures in shopping for vintage Gucci and Chanel bags. I received so many comments and emails that I had to close the comments. I just couldn't keep up with the requests for advice and questions on what to look for.
This week, I have been rethinking that decision. It's obvious there are many of us out there who love vintage designer bags, but are unsure or scared about buying one online, or even in person for that matter. I know you are probably like me and would rather not own a designer bag than carry a fake.
So I decided to make this a weekly, one per post, lay-person's opinion of the vintage bags you send in. All you have to do is provide the following in the comments section of this page:
- a link to the item
- a link to pictures of the item (include label and any questionable features)
- a brief description
I think this will be fun, helpful, and much more manageable at once per week.
Keep in mind I am not a certified appraiser. All I can do is base my opinion on years of shopping for luxury vintage, my knowledge, and gut instinct. I welcome all differing opinions. I think a conversation will help us make an informed decision.
