Vintage Decor | Shocking Pink Walls
As a huge fan of designer Elsa Schiaparelli‘s work, I’m always attracted to the color pink. Shocking pink that is. Normally a color with demure connotations, shocking pink is so brazen. I guess that’s where the term “hot pink” come from. Little hussy of a color you!
I spotted this beautiful picture on ElleDecor.com. Although the whole Moroccan style is not quite up my alley, I can’t stop staring at this room. The odd thing is, I don’t really wear a lot of color, but when it comes to interiors, the more color the better! Now if only I could convince Mr. Debutante to let me paint the walls pink…

Debutante Clothing is a vintage fashion blog where I share my love for vintage clothing, vintage home decor and retro design. If it's old and stylish, I love it.

Ha, you and me both! Somehow I don’t think that my boyfriend would be too taken with the pink either but ooh, it *is* glorious!
And thank-you so much for your comment over at Frock & Roll! I really appreciate it, and you have a beautiful blog!
love it!
I’m not a big fan of the moroccan style with pink but that room does look really pretty. I doubt I would ever have the guts to paint a room hot pink..and I know I would never be allowed. That would definetly be one of those cross your fingers “look what I did while you were at work today honey” moments.
BTW who ever won that popina contest?
I have obsessed over this decor for years. It is not in Morocco, but in Jaipur Rajahstan India. It is the home of swimsuit designer Liza Bruce & Nicholas Alvis Vega. I first saw a layout of this home in British Vogue several years ago and have examined the layout over & over & over again! This photo is only the tip of the iceberg in the unique beauty they have created in this dusty, colorful corner of India. If you want to see more photos, just look it up in British Vogue, sometime circa 2002/3. Enjoy!
BTW, I really love your blog! It’s a continual source of education and information about vintage, American fashion and our “industry.”
Hi Gina! Thanks for the insightful information. I’ll have to check out the rest of their stunning home. Thanks for reading too! I just visited your blog – what an amazing homage to Americana. Your compliments made my day! Thank you.
Hey Sandra! Great seeing you at the picnic! I love this shade of pink- it’s super girly and just plain fun! And those pillows look so comfy! xo, mel
Great photo but I’m not a huge fan of Moroccan either! My daughters would love a room like that.
