The weather is warming up and I am itching to find some adorable summer dresses. This summer, I have have made a resolution to dress up in the prettiest vintage dresses I can find, at the risk of being a tad overdressed.

I don’t wear shorts – my short, stubby legs look ridiculous in them. Although I do love 1940s rompers because they tend to create a long line and show off my waist. Skirts and dresses are a much better alternative for me though if I want to stay cool and dry. I would love to find vintage dresses that I could dress down with a cute pair of sandals and dress up with a killer wedge heel. So when I came across this jewel toned 1950s floral dress, I was thrilled. The darker colors are perfect for day to night needs. The flowers are abstract and chic versus cutesy and predictable. It meets all of my summer o’ dresses criteria and even has the added bonus of an interesting bust line. One down, many vintage dresses to go.
