Vintage Shopping | Santa Monica Vintage Expo

This past weekend was the Santa Monica Vintage Expo. It was a whirlwind of fashion events because Los Angeles Fashion Week was going on in Downtown LA as well. But there was no way i could miss the expo, especially since my good friend Mary of Zuburbia was selling some of her vintage couture and designer goodies.
The expo seemed really busy compared to the last show. Even on a rainy Sunday afternoon, the aisles were full of vintage fans. I overheard a woman exclaim to her friends, “Why can’t they make clothes like this anymore? Seriously. This dress I bought makes me look like I have no stomach!”
And what was on my wish list? I was desperately searching for some fun metallic 1960s shift dresses or oversized bags. As usual, I was so overwhelmed by the massive amounts of amazing vintage including fur coats, pretty lace dresses, and every coveted designer imaginable, that I didn’t buy anything! I just walked away with more items on my wishlist. No worries, the show will be back in February. I’ll be there early. And hopefully it won’t be in town during fashion week.
